Gestational diabetes

During pregnancy increased blood sugar levels can occur which present a risk for mother and child. This would be usually unnoticed, because regulary it does not cause any symptoms. Very seldom thirst or increased urination may occur.

The diagnosis can be found through a screenig test.

Therefore, a test on gestational diabetes for all pregnant women in the 24th to 28th week of pregnancy is recommended.

We perform the testing on gestational diabetes with an oral glucose tolerance test and advise you on the risks.

If a gestational diabetes is diagnosed, we show you how you can measure your own blood sugar. To keep the blood sugar in limits you can get a nutrition counseling. Sometimes, treatment with insulin is required.
